What is the PE and Sport Premium?

The PE and Sport Premium is government funding provided to primary schools to help them make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of physical education, sport, and physical activity.

The funding aims to:

• Develop or add to the PE, sport and physical activity that your school already provides.

• Build capacity and capability within the school to ensure improvements will benefit pupils joining in future years.

• Increase pupils’ participation and engagement so that all children lead healthy, active lives and achieve their personal best.

At Parkend Primary School, we are passionate about the value of physical activity in supporting healthy lifestyles and wellbeing for all children. We promote participation in a wide range of sports and activities — encouraging both those who are less confident and those who show strong potential in competitive events.

Our PE curriculum is developed with the full input of our pupils through our Young Leaders, who share their ideas and feedback to help shape active opportunities across the school.
